Overview

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue - it signals the pituitary to release growth hormone through the ghrelin (GHS) receptor.

Mechanism

Ghrelin-receptor agonist. In rats and swine it released growth hormone without raising ACTH or cortisol, unlike older secretagogues.

    In rat and swine studies, ipamorelin released growth hormone with potency similar to GHRP-6 but without increasing ACTH or cortisol.[1]
