How do I verify a peptide Certificate of Analysis (COA) is authentic?

An authentic COA must contain third-party laboratory credentials, verifiable report or batch keys, raw HPLC chromatogram traces with gradient conditions and retention times, and electrospray mass spectrometry (LC-MS) confirming molecular weight.

What does HPLC purity percentage (>99.0% AUC) indicate?

HPLC Area Under the Curve (AUC) calculates the fraction of target peptide compared to all detected peaks at 214nm UV absorbance. A purity of >99% confirms minimal truncated peptide fragments or synthesis deletion sequences.

Why is LC-MS mass spectrometry verification essential for Retatrutide (4,731.33 Da)?

While HPLC proves purity of a single species, LC-MS confirms the exact chemical identity of the peptide by measuring its mass down to fractions of a Dalton. For Retatrutide, the molecular weight must resolve to 4,731.33 Da.

Do research peptides degrade during transit?

Lyophilized peptide cakes are stable for several days at room temperature when sealed under inert gas, but prolonged exposure above 30°C can cause aggregation. Reconstituted solutions should be stored at 2°C–8°C protected from light.

How is batch purity calculated on the Certificate of Analysis?

Batch purity is determined by integrating the main peak area relative to total peak area on reverse-phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC) at 214 nm and 220 nm detection wavelengths.
